The Black Horse

Bristol Rd S, Birmingham B31 2QT, UK – 0121 477 1800

Although I wouldn't describe this place as upmarket, the staff are always friendly and helpful, food arrives fast and with a smile. Always great value and we'll presented. Lovely, welcoming place.

The staff were nice and friendly, the pub was very busy. The food was cheap we had chicken burger and chips and onion rings, the onion rings were cold and the chicken was tough and dry, the other ingredients were ok, I understand the food is cheap enough, but it still should be edible

The Old Hare and Hounds

426 Lickey Rd, Rednal, Birmingham B45 8UU, UK – 0121 457 9743

The Barnt Green Inn

Kendal End Rd, Birmingham B45 8PZ, UK – 0121 445 4949

Pulled up for the first time and thought the building was lovely inside and out. Service was ok, and waited at the bar a while with no staff in sight. Food was fairly tasty, but felt it was overpriced on the whole, I had the smaller linguine which was served in the same pot my calamari starter was served in! Portion was frankly silly and for just shy of £10, which I wouldn't mind but was taken up with chunks of tomato in an already small space. I don't mind paying top dollar for good food but feel they're charging for the spot and building as opposed to the quality and size of meals. Would go back, but portions are very stingy.

Fabulous birthday evening spent tonight, first time visit but defo the first of many... Lovely atmosphere, very warm greetings from staff, served by Carlos who was extremely helpful throughout the evening, food was excellent (to die for literally), can't wait for another excuse to go back again.... ❤️❤️ 5🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 👍🏽👍🏽

Himalaya Restaurant (Licensed)

1716 Bristol Rd S, Rednal, Birmingham B45 9QD, UK – 0121 453 4336

My party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed the food and service here. Considering it was busy all our starters and main dishes arrived very quickly. Ambience and furniture etc were very tasteful. Only downside was a naam had been forgotten but this was quickly rectified. Also, maybe tap water should be provided without having to ask for it.

Enjoyed our visit here. Staff were lovely, attentive without being overbearing. We ordered poppadoms and the dips which were great then came the starters which were a little disappointing we ordered three starters between the two of us and two of them were a let down. The vegetable samosa were clearly bought in frozen and unfortunately they were still cold in the middle and the chicken chat was on the bland side lacking seasoning and it looked like something the cat threw up. The kebabs that were ordered were scrummy though full of flavour and juicy. The main courses we ordered were fantastic though, my wife had a lamb dish that was delicious I had a tandoori mixed grill and this was well cooked and a very generous portion. The naan breads were lovely and fluffy and hot. I was going to award three stars but the attitude of the staff and the very good main courses raised it to 4. I would love them to make their own samosa.

Lai Ling

429 Lickey Rd, Rednal, Birmingham B45 8UT, UK – 0121 453 0077

What a fantastic Chinese buffet for a reasonable price and it is all cooked fresh pipping hot and a table service too.

Best value in Birmingham. £16.90, choose as many starters as you want, then as many mains, waitress service. Good attentive and efficient service, Chinese food as good as anywhere. Unbeatable!

Bamboo House Restaurant

1698 Bristol Rd S, Rednal, Birmingham B45 9TZ, UK – 0121 453 5588

Great food & great value for money, especially the buffet menu

Previously had a couple of great takeaways from here so thought we would try sitting down for a meal in the restaurant. You and those on your table have the choice of selecting individual meals from main menu or ordering from all you can eat buffet. We opted for the latter and wasn't disappointed - all of the food is cooked to order with them bringing two or three items at a time and was hot, fresh, very tasty and plentiful but not too overwhelming to leave some room for your next course (although far too full to consider a dessert). Waitress was polite and helpful. Restaurant is licenced and drinks reasonably "local pub"priced. We will definitely go back for a sit down soon and order all of our Chinese takeaways from there from now on. Definitely worth a visit.

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Lickey

Simla

1285 Bristol Rd S, Birmingham B31 2SP, UK – 0121 477 9203

Food is fantastic. Delivery orders can sometimes miss extras off in my experience but it's because theyre so busy being so popular. Delivery time can be slow again due to being so popular. Would recommend picking up.

Great food, this is not your standard Indian takeaway where everything is cooked in variations of the same sauce. Dishes are distinct and have real fresh herbs and spices. Delivery can be slow but it's worth it as the food is fresh

Ruchi International Indian Takeaway

404 Groveley Ln, Rednal, Cofton Hackett, Birmingham B45 8UQ, UK – 0121 447 7000

Thoroughly enjoyable Bangladeshi takeaway food. We often go down and buy a meal for the family and it's cooked freshly and always enjoyed. There's a discount for picking up orders yourself and I've always found the staff really friendly. Highly recommended!

Good food. Nice people.

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Frankie & Benny's

Park Way, Rubery, Birmingham B45 9JL, UK – 0121 453 0369

Not my sort of place but the food is quite good depending on what you order. The service is very good and you don't have to wait too long for the food. They do lots of birthday parties here. Thank goodness they've changed the songs they play when the cake is bought out. Not so annoying!!!

Great meal.. great price.. excellent service and very professional, friendly staff.
