Hotels

Premier Inn Birmingham South Longbridge Station

1 High St, Birmingham B31 2UQ, UK – 0871 527 9434

We stayed at the hotel as we were attending a 50th birthday party at a social club nearby. The hotel is situated on a small retail park, where there are a few shops, cafes and a supermarket and a pub. The staff who did our check-in and check-out were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfy bed. The hotel is ideally situated sound the corner from the train station, and close to major road routes and motorway

A lovely hotel with a modern feel. The staff were friendly and the food was of a good quality.

Bromsgrove Hotel & Spa Birmingham

Birmingham Rd, Bromsgrove, Birmingham B61 0JB, UK – 0871 221 0121

Very impressed with this hotel in the Britannia chain. This is the 2nd time we've been in 5 weeks. It's a nice weekend treat with the pool, steam room and jacuzzi. It's reasonably priced and the restaurant food is great but the most important thing is the service. The staff on reception, the restaurant and the night staff are all very good and can't do enough to help. That's why we'll keep coming back.

Beautiful hotel. Very cozy lounge for a drink which had a piano and open fire place. The room was comfortable and warm. Great spa facilities with a large pool which we took advantage of. The lady who check me in was very polite and friendly she made me feel very welcome and recommended the pizza which my partner had and very much enjoyed 10 out of 10 for customer service. I cannot say the same for the lady checking us out. Her first words to us as we arrived at reception was room number! And she didnt even look up from her monitor. I found her very rude and uninviting 0 out of ten for customer service and my reason for four stars but, will stay here again loved the hotel. Thank you for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Premier Inn Birmingham South Rubery

Great Park, Ashbrook Drive, Rubery, Birmingham B45 9FP, UK – 0871 527 8094

Stayed here on 2 separate occasions with my husband and 2 sons (4 & 6) . Cannot recommend enough, great value for money, staff are friendly and professional and rooms are clean and perfect for a family stay. We had medication with us which they happily stored in the reception fridge and have 24 hour service so we could access it at any time. The Brewers Fayre restaurant attached serve a great Cooked Breakfast where kids eat free.

Very friendly staff. Hotel rooms very big and very comfortable. Good location and very cheap for what you get. Only issue was with breakfast in the Brewers Fayre. Would not recommend it. We paid and then within 10 minutes asked for a refund and went elsewhere due to lack of food available. This is not the hotels fault but unfortunately it is linked to them as this is where breakfast is served. Try the hotel just not the breakfast!

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Barnt Green Inn

Kendal End Rd, Birmingham B45 8PZ, UK – 0121 445 4949

Great setting and the food/drink menu was fantastic in terms of selection. Service was good for the most part, though at times it faltered. The only way I can think to put it is the service providers seemed rushed off their feet, despite the place being relatively empty. Perhaps there was something going on behind the scenes, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. In terms of food, the quality was wonderful and the portions were of a decent size. Not the place to go if you're just eating for fuel, but great if you enjoy interesting flavours and ingredients.

Went with a group of friends. My choice, as I was keen to try out the vegan menu. Starter and puds were delicious, but my main course was very bland and unimaginative, as was my friend's. I think the meat eaters were happy with their food. The hard wooden chairs were very uncomfortable.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Travelodge Bromsgrove Marlbrook

462 Birmingham Rd, Marlbrook, Bromsgrove B61 0HR, UK – 0871 559 1809

The room was lovely and comfortable, clean and the staff very helpful. Joined with having an eating place right beside made this an ideal spot to stay. Easily accessible to Blakedown where we were visiting. Excellent value, recommend to any one, but especially to those who find it difficult to travel with their dog. 😀

Reasonable place to stay. However the price can vary and the rooms are dated. Such a shame there are no guest deals for the neighbouring Miller & Carter.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
